Is it time to retire the word manager?

I do hope you're enjoying your weekend, and for any members working - thank you for keeping the public safe this weekend.

I came across this article today and I was wondering what members thoughts are? I'm quite fascinated with the paradox of management explored in this article.

Looking forward to hearing any thoughts.

Thanks for this Adam,
I'm data collecting at the moment with nurses, students and academics and the interchangeable use of 'leadership' and 'management' is fascinating. Both words meaning something different to each person and, asking what they mean, is equally fascinating. In this article, I wonder how it translates to healthcare? What seems to be suggested is that there is no function for managing people, however, we still need to require management of some kind to ensure tasks are completed? It really throws up some interesting perspectives.
