WHO Competency Framework for Health Workers’ Education and Training on Antimicrobial Resistance

Released in 2018, this document outlines a set of core and additional competencies to guide the education and training of health workers in addressing antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The competency framework is a tabular matrix of the AMR domains, health worker categories and the competencies (knowledge, skills, attitudes) necessary to effectively address AMR in practice settings. The framework adopts an interprofessional approach based on the principle that addressing AMR requires a shared understanding, and effective collaboration and communication among health workers.
