RWE4Decisions is a multi-stakeholder initiative commissioned by the Belgian National Institute of Health and Disability Insurance (INAMI-RIZIV) and comprising policy makers, HTA bodies, payers, regulatory agencies, clinicians, patient groups, researchers, industry and academic experts. On Tuesday 10th November 2020 the RWE4Decisions conference "Health Innovation the European Health Data Space and Real World Evidence" will take place online from 14h00 to 17h30 CET. The virtual event is hosted under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Health associated programme of the German EU Presidency.
"The COVID-19 pandemic shows that real-world evidence generation has become even more crucial as data collected in medical practice would not only inform health systems and their resources, but also inform the development of medicines for the benefit of patients. The EU’s data strategy and proposed creation of a European Health Data Space offer the opportunity to harness the potential of real-world data through cross border collaboration with a view to enabling sustainable and early patient access to innovative technologies. This approach is also particularly relevant in view of the EU’s commitment to the Beating Cancer Plan. This conference will consider how a multi-stakeholder EU Learning Network could be established to foster learnings from the use of real-world evidence within the context of the European Health Data Space in order to inform deliberations between payers/HTA authorities and enable a learning system to bring the right treatment, for the right patient, at the right time".
The panel discussions will include interventions by over 20 speakers aiming to delve into how to solve the challenges for the use of RWE ahead of the launch of the European Health Data Space.
