Nobody Left Outside : Draft of the Final Joint statement

Just seen this in the Hhealth Policy Platform, it would be greta if INHWE members could provide feedback:

The Nobody Left Outside (NLO) initiative has the pleasure of sharing its Joint Statement on "Improving healthcare access for marginalised people".This joint statement aims to provide policy-makers with a range of priorities, principles and suggestions about what can work to improve access to health and social care for some of Europe's most under-served people. It aims to translate the understanding of the determinants of poor health and unequal access, together with good practices and experiences of target communities, into concrete calls to action. Inequity is not inevitable. We kindly invite you to provide us with your comments by 17 September 2019.If you have any questions about this information or if you are considering to endorse our Joint Statement, please contact info@nobodyleftoutside.eu

Thank you David. As we can see now from recent developments in the world, equitable access to quality health care for everyone is most relevant but very complex at the same time.

I agree Adrian. This NLO initiative paper outlines the challenges also: https://www.correlation-net.org/nobody-left-outside-nlo-initiative-briefing-paper/

I have also just been sent this:

Nobody Left Outside Initiative: NLO Week 2020 (12-16 Oct)

The COVID-19 pandemic has amplified the existing challenges of marginalised communities, including homeless people, LGTBI people, people who use drugs, prisoners, sex workers and undocumented migrants. People in these groups are at greater risk of poor health, yet face many barriers in accessing healthcare. While COVID-19 has affected everyone, marginalised communities have faced particular challenges requiring specific policy responses. These crucial issues are the focus of NLO Week 2020, running from 12-16 October 2020 and featuring: - a series of podcasts with prominent stakeholders in conversation with Paul Adamson from Encompass, to be posted daily from 12-15 October on Encompass or here: https://nobodyleftoutside.eu/nlo-week-2020/ - a webinar titled "COVID-19 in Marginalised Groups Challenges, actions and voices" on 16 October (14.00-15.30 CET) in collaboration with the European Health Forum Gastein.
