The International Congress of Health Workforce Education and Research 2017 is hosted in collaboration with both the University of Porto (Faculty of Medicine) and Ordem dos Medicos (Northern Region Section). Established in 1911 the Faculty of Medicine (FMUP) is one of the founding schools of the University of Porto. Currently attended by over a thousand students from various cycles of study, FMUP is a reference institution for Portuguese students pursuing a medical education. Ordem dos Medicos
Founded in 1898, the Ordem dos Medicos (Association of Portuguese Physicians) represents around 50 thousands clinicians, which gives one doctor for every 200 people living in the Country. In works together with the Ministry of Health to ensure the post-graduate technical and scientific training of its enrollees, promote life long learning, and maintain the excellence of these professionals.
