The SAFEMEDIC Project aims to improve the workplace safety of healthcare professionals by increasing their skills and competences in dealing with difficult situations. To achieve the project aims the consortium has produced complex multi-stakeholder, inter-disciplinary course for healthcare students, predominantly focused at paramedics and nurses. Introduction
This session with set out the fundamentals of the project and provide an introduction to our primary aim of improving the workplace safety of healthcare professionals by increasing their skills and competences in dealing with difficult situations. Operational Tools
This session outlines the practical tools that the project has developed to increase the conflict management skills and knowledge of healthcare professionals. The tools range from videos to training guides, and an autonomous learning platform available online, free of charge, in the form of multimedia interactive materials realised in a Moodle format.

Caring for Vulnerable People
There are many groupings of vulnerable people in the world. Furthermore, the numbers of vulnerable people in general populations are much higher than may initially be expected. While health education programmes commonly include training in the needs of some groups of vulnerable people health professionals often lack awareness, knowledge and/or confidence in dealing with people with other vulnerabilities. This session provides an insight into caring for vulnerable people, a key area of the SAFEMEDIC course.

Legal Aspects
Current approaches to strengthening healthcare systems concentrates heavily on patient care and quality of services without sufficiently supporting and empowering health workers. This myopic view leads to short term solutions and eventual failure of the healthcare system. Therefore, legal awareness and literacy of health workers, including rights and responsibilities, regulations, legislations and accountability mechanisms, will allow for effective participation of health workers in national health system strengthening.

Future Work
This session focuses on the future work of the project after its official funding has ceased along with the future of the project for everyone who might be interested in using our work. We’ll aim to help colleagues from across Europe and beyond on their SAFEMEDIC journey. We also have some great ideas for future collaboration especially in light of the much changed post covid world. Communication and Intercultural Education
This session on communication and intercultural education for health professionals brings together global research on the two themes which are so important to humanism and storytelling. Health professionals are dealing with constant changes to both the health systems they work in and the patients they serve. Communication and intercultural education, along with storytelling, are three distinct but interrelated topics that are assisting health professionals adapt to their changing environment.

Interprofessional Education
Our project, and storytelling in general, is inherently interprofessional. That is why for this session we have brought together some of the best presentations from previous INHWE events to complement the IPE aspects of our project. The development of strong interprofessional teams to aid collaborative working practices must be imbedded throughout the working career of health professionals and this continual reinforcement will allow the health workforce to deal with an increasingly changing healthcare landscape.

The aim of this session is to raise awareness about conceptual frameworks on interprofessional collaboration and interprofessional education. Three examples in different settings are presented. The HAN University of Applied Sciences, and in particular the chair Organisation of Healthcare and Social Services, connects practice, education and research by means of action research and with a focus on interprofessional collaboration and education. In this session we show useful frameworks to stimulate interprofessional learning. Tools and training on interprofessional collaboration competencies, network knowledge and skills and perceptions towards interprofessional learning are presented. The session will discuss applicability and feasibility in different settings.

What skills and values do all healthcare educators have in common? At the INHWE Conference in Dublin in 2019, we presented interim data from a nationally funded project aimed at developing an agreed consensus on the values and activities that all educators share. Results from the INHWE workshop fed into the five-phase project, known as HEVAS (Health Educators Values and Activities Study). The work has now concluded and is being prepared for publication. In this proposed session, we will report on the process, findings and outcomes of the project and consult with the audience on next steps.

The University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine provides the opportunity for South Dakota residents to receive a quality, broad-based medical education with an emphasis on family medicine. The curriculum is to be established to encourage graduates to serve people living in the medically underserved areas of the state, and is to require excellence in the basic sciences and in all clinical disciplines. Quality health care for the people of South Dakota is addressed by undergraduate, graduate and continuing educational programs as well as by basic and applied medical research. Within the USD Sanford School of Medicine, the Parry Center for Clinical Skills and Simulation provides innovative, simulation-based education, research and performance assessment across the continuum of education for the USD Sanford School of Medicine, School of Health Sciences, affiliated residency programs, healthcare providers and community. Casting the Network is the podcast of the International Network for Health Workforce Education. Each episode we will be introducing a guest who has a story to tell, research to provide or just something interesting to say. We wanted to find a way to share the stories we hear at our conferences and within our network to a much wider audience, including those that have not yet had the chance to attend one of our meetings. We have always given a platform, not only to tried and tested education ideas, but also to new innovative methods and we wanted find even more ways to do this. OASES - prOmoting evidence-bASed rEformS (2021-2024)
OASES is a 3-year long research project (No. 101018341) co-funded by the Health Programme of the European Union, led by a consortium of European partners. OASES intends to become a source of knowledge on European medical deserts carrying out an analysis of medical desertification in Europe. Findings from the implementation of various pilot studies will provide insights, useful cases and evidence on possible measures to mitigate desertification, which can inform policy makers to enhance their healthcare reforms and workforce policy capacities.

VRHealthLeaders - A Multifaceted Virtual Reality Learning Platform for Future Healthcare Leaders
The World Health Organisation (WHO, 2014) states that "despite the documented importance of leadership in safety and quality improvement, there are currently limited resources available for the training of health-care leaders on a global level". The issue of limited resources for training healthcare leaders has been further compounded by the recent shift to online and distance learning due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Virtual reality simulation offers educators the chance to provide students with experiential learning that they would otherwise not have available to them thus breaking down traditional educational barriers, such as distance and time. Our project aims to use virtual reality as a key cornerstone of a comprehensive, multifaceted learning platform that can be used in an interprofessional manner in multiple educational settings.
