Interprofessional Leadership Education Summer School
The Interprofessional Leadership Education Summer School looks at the topic of “Policy into Practice” and aims to promote quality education by encouraging the exchange of ideas and experiences amongst a multi stakeholder audience of educators, policy makers, young researchers and students. The Summer School will provide a forum within which all actors can share interests and experiences and co-produce a future proof educational pedagogy for the leaders of tomorrow. The event runs in conjunction with the 2ndInternational Congress of Health Workforce Education and Research which takes place at the European University of Cyprus in Nicosia, Cyprus.
Summer School Topic
The key objective of this Summer School is to identify tools, techniques and approaches that integrate healthcare policy with educators’ perspectives on improving the leadership skills of health professionals. Current factors affecting our rapidly changing global healthcare systems include a lack of funding, ageing populations, chronic disease, multi-morbidity and anti-microbial resistance. In order to ease such pressures on health care systems, educators and policy makers alike are increasingly looking to new solutions. These solutions involve new ways of working and therefore require new skills and adaptive training for the leaders of tomorrow.
