The Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research is seeking a new Board Member to join the organisation that was established in 1999 and is hosted as an international partnership within the World Health Organization (WHO). The Alliance’s mission is to promote the generation and use of health policy and systems research as ameans to strengthen the health systems in low- and middle-income countries. The Alliance Board is managed and governed by 9-10 members. The Alliance Board is self-governed – it elects its members and its Chair. Members of the Alliance board will be selected in an individual capacity and not as representatives of their institution or country, for a three-year term, renewable once. The Alliance board meets once a year in Geneva (usually in the fall). In addition, one or two audio conference calls are scheduled during the year. The working language of the meeting and documentation is English. No stipend is paid to members, however, full travel costs are covered and aper diem is provided.
