We are pleased to announce two dissemination events for the ECHOES project in Cyprus on Thursday 8th May 2025. The meetings allow participants to gain an insight into the project, explore the results from our gap analysis into healthcare expertise across Europe and be one of the first people to sign up and test our platform. The first meeting will happen in the morning in Larnaca while the afternoon event will take place in the capital, Nicosia. Both events will give you a fantastic opportunity to network with colleagues in Cyprus and internationally while also providing a complementary networking lunch (Larnaca) or dinner (Nicosia) to enable further informal discussion. We hope to see you at one of these events in May!

ECHOES - ExChange Of ExpertiSe in healthcare professionals’ education
Why
The project aims to develop a digital platform facilitating the exchange of expertise between healthcare universities, increasing access of students across Europe (and worldwide) to the expertise that is unequally distributed. Additionally, the project aims to upskill educators’ and regarding virtual exchanges, digital skills, facilitating exchanges without the need for physical mobility (decreasing the financial and environmental impact of teaching & learning activities). The exchanges will also develop intercultural competencies among staff and learners and contribute to the “Internet of things” policy of the EU, introducing the ways in which IT technology can be further utilised within education in the medical field.
What
The main outcome of this project is an increased exchange of expertise between universities through a digital platform, providing access to advanced expertise to more graduates across Europe (and worldwide), increasing the capacity of healthcare professionals, instilling a mindset of constant upskilling necessary to positively disrupt the status quo. In tangible terms, the project aims to have 500 experts and healthcare educators registered and actively using the platform, 500 participants training in the platform. Publication of the research results (2 articles in Open Access), following the identifying of the aspects required in the digital platform; 6 online actions developing skills of the experts to use the platform and undergo virtual exchanges; events to disseminate the platform. Lastly, and most importantly, one functioning and user-friendly matchmaking and networking platform to link educators from across Europe;
How
The development of this digital platform will promote exchanges of expertise (WP3), based on prior research about the stakeholders’ needs for this platform and the recent advances in the online training configurations (WP2). This will be followed by the development of staff skills to perform virtual exchanges (capacity building, WP4) and dissemination campaign targeting the European medical education market, as well as the audience across the world (WP5). The main activities, therefore, include the management of the project, research phase to identify the requirements of the platform, development of the digital platform, testing of the platform, webinars regarding virtual mobility and the platform, congress to promote the platform, dissemination of the platform online. The beneficiaries include healthcare students (around 200k graduates per year in medicine, nursing and midwifery in EU alone), professionals (over 7 million healthcare professionals in Europe), educators and faculties (statistics from Eurostat).
