The International Congress of Health Workforce Education and Research 2017 is hosted in collaboration with both the University of Porto (Faculty of Medicine) and Ordem dos Medicos (Northern Region Section). The Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA) is assisting the Congress as a partner and sponsor. The International Network for Health Workforce Education wants to express its gratitude to all partners for their commitment and active contribution.

University of Porto

Established in 1911 the Faculty of Medicine (FMUP) is one of the founding schools of the University of Porto. Currently attended by over a thousand students from various cycles of study, FMUP is a reference institution for Portuguese students pursuing a medical education. FMUP is known for the quality of its training (which privileges a strong practical component), for its intense scientific activity and for the provision of services to the community.

Ordem dos Medicos

Founded in 1898, the Ordem dos Medicos (Association of Portuguese Physicians) represents around 50 thousands clinicians, which gives one doctor for every 200 people living in the Country. In works together with the Ministry of Health to ensure the post-graduate technical and scientific training of its enrollees, promote life long learning, and maintain the excellence of these professionals.
